Winter Steelhead

"Those anglers who have spent much of their lives casting into the swollen expanse of a winter river know that they must tenaciously cling to some strength deep within themselves in order to accept, perhaps even enjoy, the seemingly empty hours of casting required to move a winter steelhead to a fly. During every one of those thousands or more casts, the angler must cling to a silent prayer that is forever a winter’s hope, no matter what the actual fly pattern.”
